When Maya Piata started singing in our newly constructed engineering building, students passing by stopped and gathered, drawn to her voice and smooth music and infectious energy. As a student at UTD, she was no different: her positive vibes and beaming smile attracted people to her and made her somewhat of a campus celebrity. Now, as a recent graduate, Maya is continuing to make music in Dallas and stand out as an exemplary alum, which happens to be two things that we at Radio UTD love to highlight.
