Dwight Smith

Austin folk artist brought soft and delicate songs to the Plinth

Songs:
“Every Night”
“Highlands”

At first glance, Dwight Smith looks like an outlaw country artist, his long hair and trucker hat suggesting a hardened life on the road. But when he begins to delicately pick the guitar and softly sing, the assumptions melt away and suggest that his travels have actually left him open and perceptive. The inclusion of the trumpet in this session is just a hint of the wonderfully layered folk music he produces. For the full experience, check out his Bandcamp and get to a live show.
