Laser Background is a passion project formed by Andy Molholt. This Philadelphia based psych pop band builds off densely layered vocal effect stylization to formulate a sugar laced syrupy bops. Andy has many years of experimenting with this band, but as of 2017, also became the guitarist for Speedy Ortiz. Laser Background offers a unique bridge of genres between psych rock and dreamy synthwave. The true sensation of the music could be described as uploading yourself to the grid to enjoy a VR emulation of the beach, but you know something’s not quite right… there’s a glitch in the mainframe.. Or maybe you’re just having a bad trip.
