Drew Cannedy’s bandcamp bills his music as sad dad music but the songs he stripped down and played for us in an ATEC building staircase ring with happiness and love. It’s been half a year since he released his debut album, Girlfriends, which took over a year to come together and which has made an impression on the UTD student body and garnered attention from our newspaper, The Mercury. Though music is just a hobby for Drew, he puts thought and effort into his compositions, layering instruments on his recorded tracks and adding effects to create an airy atmosphere that compliments the complex emotions he writes of and lives. Drew can be found in and around the computer science buildings, so if you happen to be there, give him a shoutout.
