Thanks to the streaming-age and the internet, new music gets constantly released. Every week theres new singles from an upcoming album, loosies, music videos, albums, mixtapes, it’s hard to keep track of it all.
Here are some of this weeks highlights, followed by playlists including some of this weeks other releases.
This week saw the release of a couple music videos for older songs, such as Lil Uzi’s “XO TOUR Llif3.” The video features a lot of purple, demonic visuals, and a cameo from The Weeknd. It’s a somewhat odd video, but given that it’s his most popular song, a music video was bound to happen.
Similarly, Calvin Harris released a music video for “Hard to Love” featuring Jessie Reyez, from his album Funk Wav Bounces Vol.1. The video contains Reyez exploring Paris at night, singing along to the wistful track.
A lot of anticipated projects have also released this week, such as Alvvays’ Antisocialites, and Sleep Well Beast by The National. Syd released a short, 3-track EP right before beginning her tour, a slight disappointment for fans who were expecting a full-length album after the project was announced. Although this is not surprising, as her album Fin came out earlier this year in February.
Other interesting releases to check out include $UICIDEBOY$ latest single, from their project releasing on Monday, as well as SZA’s song featured on the soundtrack to the HBO series, Insecure. Checking out the three tracks KAYTRANADA uploaded to SoundCloud wouldn’t hurt either.
